dr. thorben hänel, born in hamburg, germany, is a senilecturer at the university of sunderl(london) heads the department fpostgraduate business programs. having previously lived worked in china he continues to undertake research on the effectiveness appropriateness of international technology transfer innovation strategies between german chinese firms. he is a visiting lecturer at shanghai jiao tong university shanghai university of finance & economics, member of the boards of the china association fmanagement of technology (camot), cambridge, the global dba association, paris. his professional experience involves corporate roles consultancy activities in financial strategic managerial acing as well as academic posts at universities in the uk, germany, france china. previously he has been working as a research fellow at the sino-german centre (cdhk) at tongji university, shanghai, business partner m&a fasia solution in shanghai london, at senilevel as directof acing financial controlling fa market-leading real estate project development urban construction group in bremen/wiesbaden, germany. prihe began his career in the portfolio management fa german real estate investment bank. he holds ba/ma degrees in business management from the university of applied sciences kiel, germany, a msc in human resources management from the university of sunderland, uk, a phd in innovation management from bournemouth university, uk. he is a fellow of the higher education academy holds memberships in the german association fasian studies (dga), the tered management institute (cmi) tered institute fpersonnel development (cipd).
